Celery, Peanut Butter, and Questions.

The time has come my children – the day you have been waiting for.

You know, you wonderful subscribers really can be kind of NOT-NICE to wish to see me suffer in this way!

But actually – no nasty snack can compare to the technical problems I had with this post.

This was a five minute video – all I wanted to do was edit it together into one seamless video and cut out any ridiculously loud chomping.
But nope.  After struggling with a 5 minute video for an estimated 16 hours – and staying up as late as 2:30 at night to try to fix the problems – I resolved myself to the individual, unedited and hopefully-not-too-lame clips below.
*cringes*  Not only do I film myself eating – I REALLY DISLIKE having people watch me while I eat – I can’t even put together a slick little vlog like every other blogger on the planet.

This is too embarrassing.  You watch it – I just can’t watch it again.

To those of you web travelers who might be new to this blog – I agreed, publicly, that if I reached 20 subscribers – I would eat celery and peanut butter, and film myself doing it.
Yucky.
Well – obviously – I reached 20 subscribers.
I broke out the celery and peanut butter.
And I filmed the video.
So prepare to do  something; laugh, squirm, yawn – something.
Okay – Roll video.

  1. ACK ALLISON. Somehow I’ve managed to lose track of your blog in the middle of everything and I’M SO SORRY o_O I shall definitely try to not do that again and you shall hopefully see comments from me from now on. (not guaranteeing every single post, but y’know, more than I have been -which shouldn’t be hard. Like…at all.)
Anyways. This was rather funny. XD I actually do like peanut-butter and celery somewhat. (In small doses)
Don’t worry about being awkward, you’re just human. We’re all awkward sausage rolls of insanity. Some people just hide it better than others. xP

  2. You did it! You ate the thing! o/ That was fun to watch, hehe! XD I don’t blame you for not liking peanut butter and celery. Like you said, it’s not the worst snack ever, but it’s not one I generally seek out. I actually tend not to like celery either unless it’s chopped into small pieces and cooked down. Otherwise it’s really stringy. Bleh.
As a side note, I really liked your outfit in the video. 🙂
You want questions? I can ask questions! Hmm, let’s see… I’ll steal my first one from your samples: Did you ever have an imaginary friend? And 2) Do you have any crafts (other than writing) that you like to do? (Asks the girl with the massive hoard of yarn for knitting and crochet ;))

  3. JANE, JANE, JANE! I’ve missed you!!! ‘showers friend with pizza’ Thank you so much for commenting! And I completely understand! I’m having trouble keeping up on commenting on other blogs myself! No problem!
Haha – really? WHAT?! Awkward sausage rolls of insanity?? LOL! That is hilarious, Jane! I’ll never forget that phrase!
Yeah – I”m NOT good at hiding it! ‘smiles’

  4. E.F.B – thank you for commenting! Hehehe – YES I did it! I don’t mind chopped celery in tuna fish or chili – finely chopped – but it’s just stringy and rubbery….yeah… ‘wrinkles nose’ But this wasn’t TOO awful.
    Aww…thank you E.F.B! I do like wearing pretty clothes. . . 🙂
Ooo – great questions! Thanks so much – I look forward to answering them in a future post – and don’t hesitate to post more questions here if you happen to think of any!

  5. Ooooh!!!! Alli! I LIKE IT! YAY for getting the vlog up. And YAY for so many subscribers! And Yay for finally trying peanut butter and celery (even if you didn’t like it…). Strangely enough, I actually liked having the vlog split apart like that. That way I could reward myself throughout today coming back and watching the clips little by little after I accomplished stuff. 🙂
Q & A posts are the best! I think a vlog would be utterly delightful, but what you said does make sense. So, maybe you could do some answers via vlog, and some via blog??? And wow, those were great questions that you had. Let me see if I can think up some good ones….
    1. You said peanut butter and celery wasn’t the worst thing you’ve eaten. What is?
    2. If you had a dog, what would you name him/her?
    3. Who is your favorite author?
    4. If you could travel to any country in the world, where would you go and why?
    5. If you could travel to any state, which state would you choose and why?
    6. What was your favorite age that you’ve ever been? Why?
And I could keep going, but I don’t want to overload you with TOO many questions. 😉

  6. I don’t like celery and peanut butter either, so I congratulate you for eating it.
I just followed your blog (Lydia introduced me to it).

  7. Yippee!! You did it 🙂 I don’t mind celery, but with peanut butter!!?? Blech! Going to subscribe 😛 Okay, so I’ve checked your blog a few times, but I decided it’s about time I subscribe 😉 Should I be sorry for you?? hehe.
    Okay, questions:
-Are you more of an extrovert or introvert? Mixture of both?
-How old were you when you first started writing (I’m thinking of stories here :))?
    -Favorite book of all time?

  8. I’m so impressed by this, wow! xD
When I subscribed to your blog I didn’t know about the whole celery-eating-thing, and when I found out I did not envy you in the least! I dislike both of those foods so putting them together just… *shudders* But I’m proud of you for sticking with it! I can’t wait to see what the next twenty subscribers will bring! (also, your siblings made me laugh a few times, I can totally relate!)
As for questions, I’ll steal one of yours – What is your current desktop wallpaper? and also ask – Do you have a favorite Disney movie?

  9. @Lydia.
THANKS LYDIA! Yay – I did it! Sort of!
Aww . . .that’s kind of you to say so – that makes me feel so much better about it! I never thought it might actually be more convenient for someone – hooray!
And that’s a great idea about rewards – I did that A LOT with NaNoWriMo and I ought to do it more – it seemed to work!
Really? Aww, thank you! That’s a great idea! I really like that – okay – I think that’s what I’m going to do – half vlog – half post – that will work!
These look like fabulous questions, Lydia – thanks! You can scare me with too many questions, don’t hesitate to post anymore if you want to! 🙂

  10. Hi Hosanna – thank you! 🙂 And thank you so much for commenting and subscribing – I am thrilled to have you here!

  11. @Olivia
OLIVIA – hi!! Yeah – it was pretty weird! OH MY – thank you for subscribing – I’m so happy to have you here! And thanks for these questions – these look great! Can’t wait to answer them.

  12. GRACE – HI! Thank you for commenting. Hahaha – this was a surprise, then! Awww, thank you Grace! ‘hugs’ That’s so kind of you to say that! I too am excited to see what the future will bring on this blog!
Hehehe – EVERY sibling can relate to those wise guys in my video! They were having a grand old time watching me eat that celery! But they also felt bad for me – mixed feelings! 🙂
Those are great questions – psst – anything about Disney is a good question! #lovedisney.
    God Bless!

  13. So, do you ever make up stories in your head and talk out loud with the characters? Just wondering if you’re as crazy as I am!

  14. Do you have pets? If so, how many, what kind, etc.?
The character development in your published and soon-to-be-published works is amazing, and your characters’ personalities and actions simply leap off the page. What tips would you give other writers for developing vivid, believable, realistic, and endearing characters?
