Try The World Vlog

Hello travelers!  I recently signed up for three months of Try The World’s monthly subscription box to bring a little of the international to my home.  I hope you enjoy the mini adventure; I wasn’t quite prepared for a vlog (felt half alive on this particular day) but that is part of what makes these things an adventure, right?  🙂  I WAS ravenous hungry so that was serendipitous – and I was as ready to tear into this box as (hopefully) you are ready to tear into this video.

So without further ado – ze vlog!  Bon appetite!

Did you look forward to seeing more Try The World Unboxings?  Did you see anything that you would like to taste?  What are some of your favorite international dishes and treats?  I’d love to hear in the comments!

  1. The coconut looked good to me. 😉 But I am a huge coconut fan, so….

International… Hmm. Does German dark chocolate from Aldi count? 😀

Also, by the way, I don’t know if I just haven’t paid attention to your haircut in your other videos, but it’s super cute! <3

I would definitely like to see more unboxings!

    1. Haha! Well I gave it to my twin and Mom who are super coconut enthusiasts and they couldn’t get a drink of what fast enough… ‘looks at package, perplexed’.

It sure does count! I love Aldi’s! We have tried a lot of international goodies there (specifically sweet things) and typically I am always amazed in two ways. 1) They actually TASTE like something, instead of the packaged sweetness of a lot of US cookies and such. 2) They only have a couple of ingredients.

Awww, thanks, Zane! <3 After years (decade?) of playing with it, I'm finally going to leave it this way.

Thanks! I can't wait for the next box, even if some items in the last box were a bit of a wash. And then eventually - I'd love to do a vlog featuring 'Alli's Top Picks' . . . 'licks lips' . . . I started craving banana chips last night. 😀

      1. Hmm… maybe I wouldn’t like it then! 😀 Yeah, I love Aldi too! They have some really yummy stuff. I know you don’t like coconut but in the past they’ve had some super yummy coconut bars!! Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Awww, thank you so much!! I took it while we were in Williamsburg – I was playing around with Mom’s big camera and taking weird pictures of myself. That one turned out strangely good, though, so I set it as my profile pic! 🙂

        1. Aldi’s is fantastic! We’ve found a lot of our favorite stuff there; but unfortunately it’s that ‘while supplies last’ policy. You can go back to get something you liked and it’s all gone with no hope of returning. 🙁

Hmm…maybe my family would like the coconut bars though…. 🙂

Ooo…Williamsburg is so fun! My family went there last year around Christmas time and it was so fun to see all the decorations and such. Yes; the picture DID turn out very well! <3

  2. I’m with you in not liking coconut 😉 and the raspberry coconut snacks sounded the grossest to me out of everything you tried. Literally the only coconut thing I remember liking (and one of the few international things I remember trying in my life) was when my 2nd grade teacher, who was originally from Brazil, brought in a Brazillian version of Oreos with coconut creme centers. It’s the coconut texture I don’t like, but the creme in those was totally smooth, with no coconut bits. They were good. 🙂

As for the rest of the snacks you tried, I was actually surprised at how appetizing they sounded! Except, maybe the “tree bark” LOL! The tomato and olive oil rice snacks in particular sounded like something I’d be willing to try.

Definitely looking forward to more Try the World Unboxings! I haven’t yet heard of a subscription box I could both afford and think would consistently include things that would be worth my money, but it is interesting to see other people open them and show what’s inside. I get to hear about things I never would have known about otherwise. 🙂

    1. Haha! Yeah …..the only thing grosser than the raspberry coconut thing was the “tree bark”. Wow, that’s cool! Interesting combination, although that wouldn’t have appealed much to me because that smooth, sweet “coconut filling” stuff (like in an Almond Joy or certain cookies) makes me physically ill. The only coconut I like is coconut cake, the dry stuff on top of the cool whip.

Haha! The tomato basil rice crackers were DELICIOUS. Maybe you could find something similar in your local store? I know I’m going to look for something like it.

Thank you! I’m looking forward to more too. Yeah, I usually just watch other subscription box videos, but I took a chance and splurged with these and it’s fun.
