Allison’s Well 1st Birthday – Blog Party: HACKED

LOOK WHAT HAPPENED – I GOT “HACKED.”

By the nicest hackers possible.  Some of my sweet followers sent secret messages to put together this post for Allison’s Well 1st birthday.  With the help of my twin – (thanks, Chum-Chum!) – these messages were a surprise to me!

Let’s read them now!

GABRIELLYN SAYS –

Hey, girl! Happy birthday to your lovely blog! <3 I distinctly remember when we first met. You were new to Goodreads and had a question about how something worked in the forums. I gave a quick response, just thinking to be helpful to the ‘new girl’!  After that, you asked if I wanted to chat on our private messages. No one had ever been that excited to talk to me on Goodreads, so it was a little odd/surprising.  I guess I was hoping that you would be a normal person and not a serial killer or anything. 😛   But as soon as we started messaging I found that your were such a lovely person, totally not the serial killer type! ;P I have always been glad since then that God brought you into my life and that we have gotten to be such great buddies.  I hope someday I’ll get to meet you in person. But, even if I don’t, you have been a tremendous blessing in my life.

KELLYN SAYS –

Heyo Alli! Congrats on your blog’s birthday! *highfives* I’m so happy for you!

Now let’s see. How do I put Allison Tinkerbell Tebo into words? I’ll try – you’re a magical person, you bring me great joy, and my internet experience is brighter because of you. You truly are a Light in the World – or at least the web. 😉 One of my favorite memories is our crazy Christmas battle! (CHRISTMAS FOREVER!!!!) That was epic and hilarious.

Well, thank you for being my friend. You’ll always have a special place in my heart, GIF Queen. *bows* *exuent*

IVIE SAYS –

Hey, Allison. Congrats on your one year blogoversary!!!!!

This is super exciting! While I haven’t read a lot on your blog, the posts I’ve read have been funny and down to earth. I’ve enjoyed all our conversations whether its been politics or about Thanksgiving coming before Christmas since some people didn’t get the memo. (Still love you Christmas-ers. XD) I look forward to our future conversations! Thanks for all the gifs and the laughs! I can’t wait to see where God takes you in life. <3

BETHANY SAYS –

Dear Allison,

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS and Happy 1st Blog Birthday!!! *cheers* *throws confetti*  That’s really exciting! I’m looking so forward to reading more of your blog posts in the future. *cheers again* *throws more confetti and releases balloons*

I can’t actually remember all the details, but I’ll give it a shot. I first ‘met’ you on Goodreads: we were (are!) both members in the same Goodreads group, and I sent you a friend request after discovering how similar (even identical) our views about the benefits of having the then-not-yet-elected Donald Trump as U.S. president would be! A few weeks later we both found out about our common love of Rooibos tea, and from then on I started following your blog and reading all your posts ;D

My favorite posts are:

A Taste of Africa (since that’s where I live and since that’s the tea I’ve grown up on, and I just loved your bush jacket and pith helmet description!!! ;D)

Try the World Vlog (or basically all the posts where you try out or describe different food, pleeeease do many many more of these!!)

And just about all your singing vlogs, you have an amazingly beautiful voice, I just love to sit back and listen to your music videos!

I’m really looking forward to reading more of your books and more of your blog posts and vlogs too, and getting to ‘know’ you better! ;D *passes round pot of Rooibos tea and a couple of pith helmets*

~Bethany 🙂

KARIS SAYS –

Hey Allison! Congrats on making it to your 1st year blog anniversary. I know you’ve had some problems getting it set up, but I’m glad you’ve persevered.  It’s been such a joy to be able to get to know you more through your posts. And where else would I be able to get so many hilarious gifs than from reading your blog posts? 😛 (Thanks for being willing to show me how to post those, btw. We got it down finally! *air high-five*

You’re in my prayers, girl, and I’m so grateful that God’s blessed me with friendship with you.

ELSIE SAYS –

Hey Alli!!!

Congratulations! One year is AWESOME!!! Keep it up, my young Padawan!

  Love you!

      – Elsie

P.S. #Burndeeisthebest!!

And Happy first birthday to your blog!

I’ve had a lot of fun reading your posts.  My favorite posts would have to be The Gif(t) of a Twin – that one made me laugh and God Is More Than Me.  I look forward to all your future posts.

HANNA SAYS –

Allison- I’ve been your Goodreads friend for over a year. On one hand, I can’t believe how much time has passed. On the other, I feel like I’ve known you for twice that! Both your blog posts and Goodreads conversations never fail to make me smile. One of my favorite posts of yours is ‘The Summer Dog’. While I’m not sentimental enough to cry, I really liked the way you wrote your reflections of such wonderful memories.

I have enjoyed our chats, ranging from sports to Christmas to celery. Maybe in the next year, I will convince you of the importance of watching basketball and eating celery with peanut butter. I can hope…  Anyway, I’m so glad to have ‘met’ you over the Internet! Congratulations on blogging for one year, and I hope you have many more!

I have never shown a GIF before, but as it’s your blog’s anniversary, I think it would be appropriate. So, here is how we are all celebrating:

Allison’s friend,

Hanna Kraft

SARAH GRACE SAYS-

“My dearest Allison, congratulations on your blog’s one year anniversary! Even though we’ve only known each other for about a year, I feel so blessed and honored to call you one of my dearest friends. What started out as a random conversation about a TV show quickly turned into a friendship I treasure deeply. Love you, girl, and congrats again!! <3

Blessings,

Sarah Grace

MARY SAYS –

Dearest Allison,

Oh, Allison, where in the world do I start? At the beginning, I suppose . . .  *smiles*

When I decided almost exactly a year ago to go for it and click the friend request button on Goodreads, I had no idea that a close and precious friendship would begin the next day. But before I knew it, we were off and running, exchanging messages non-stop, getting to know each other rapidly, finding out we had so much in common – and each being convinced we’d found a true kindred spirit. We quickly became very close, even though we still haven’t met in person – yet! It feels at once like we met yesterday and like I’ve known you forever, as long as I can remember.

Allison, you have enriched my life so much!! You have consistently and earnestly encouraged me, reminded me of truth, and prayed for me from that very first day.  You’ve brought so much laughter, cheer, entertainment, humor, and hilarity, and you are one of the very funniest people I know. You make me smile and laugh even on the hardest days when not much can. We’ve shared discussions about everything under the sun – about books, life, and things of God, from deep or heated debates to lively, joking banter. I was so delighted when I met you, and still am, that we share an intense love of so many beloved favorite books, including ones of which I’d never met another fan. And I’ve had such fun exchanging recommendations with you and enjoying our shared tastes.  And you have been such a wonderful writing buddy! Thank you for trusting me to beta-read and edit your amazing fiction, for cheering me on in my own writing, and for sharing your wisdom and skill in the craft of writing.

You are one of the sweetest people I know. I love your compassion, sensitivity, kindness, and beautiful heart, which I have seen bless so many people as well as me. And I love your passion for God and his Word, for the faith we share, and for encouraging others. You are a mature and godly example to me, and I look up to you so much as my big sister in Christ.  Your fierce loyalty and determination are awesome. And you are hilarious as well as incredibly talented in art, music, writing, and so much more! Thank you for your faithful friendship,  Alli dear!

I’m so excited to celebrate your awesome blog with you!! I’ve had such fun reading your posts, following your adventures, and hearing your deep thoughts.

Love you so much, sweet friend! <3

Love, Mary
